Education

One of our biggest tasks is the promotion of interests!

Dumppi promotes their members interests by for example:

  • Developing tuition along with the faculty
  • Meeting regularly with the faculty's staff and student representatives in administration
  • Representing in different work groups regarding development of teaching as well as other matters
  • Gathering feedback about courses and teaching from students, which is taken forwards to the course leader and all the way to the accountable teacher

Studying involves a lot of self-help and responsibilities, but also the student's rights, which every student should stick to!

Student rights:

  • Right to a healthy learning and living environment
  • Right to pursue studies flexibly
  • Right to a rest day and sick leave
  • Right to get study counselling
  • Right to study without harassment and discrimination
  • Right to reasonable livelihood in different life situations
  • Right to know in advance a course’s objectives and modes of completion
  • Right to get a justified assessment of a study performance
  • Right to receive study performance assessments without undue delay
  • Right to retake an exam
  • Right to municipal health services
  • Right to equal treatment and individual special arrangements

Check out and read what more about each right means on JYY's website!

If one of your student rights does not materialize or you have other challenges with your studies/course/teacher, you can contact Dumppi's kopo, i.e. the academic affairs representative, whose contact details can be found at the bottom of the page.
